As a faith-based nonprofit organization, Operation Restoration has served low income residents in Spartanburg and neighboring counties in the Upstate for over eighteen years. We have trained more than 1,500 residents in job readiness skills, financial literacy, and provided transitional shelter, counseling, and life skills training to the homeless. The mission of Operation Restoration is to educate and assist low-income families in the Upstate of South Carolina to work through their socio-economic circumstances, especially those related to education and home ownership, with the goal of developing self-sustaining, community-building lifestyles. We pursue this mission on several strategic fronts at once, among which are (a) life & academic support services for children of prisoners and children living in foster care; (b)transitional shelter and employment assistance services for veterans; and (c) housing counseling and foreclosure prevention services. Operation Restoration is a United Way Community Partner agency, a HUD certified housing counseling agency, and is recognized by the South Carolina Department of Commerce as a certified community development corporation.
